Hindu Refugees
The Rah-e-Nijat refugee camp in Pakistan serves as a temporary shelter for displaced individuals, particularly those affected by military operations, natural disasters, or persecution. Among its residents are Hindu refugees who face severe socio-economic challenges and systemic discrimination. These refugees often flee rural Sindh and other areas due to forced conversions, abductions, and violence targeted at religious minorities. At Rah-e-Nijat and similar camps, Hindu refugees live in overcrowded and under-resourced conditions, grappling with inadequate access to clean water, sanitation, and medical care. Despite the efforts of NGOs and advocacy groups, they frequently encounter obstacles in obtaining legal recognition, citizenship rights, and opportunities for education or employment. Their plight highlights the urgent need for inclusive policies, interfaith dialogue, and international support to address their humanitarian crisis.
